El empleo de mifepristona, conocida como la píldora abortiva RU-486, no parece afectar negativamente en los embarazos posteriores, según un estudio publicado en “American Journal of Epidemiology” con participación de más de 14.000 mujeres chinas.
Los autores, del Instituto de Investigación en Planificación Familiar de Shanghai, puntualizan que, aunque está bien documentado el efecto de un aborto quirúrgico en los tres primeros meses de gestación en los embarazos posteriores, éste no es el caso con mifepristona.
Realizaron un seguimiento de tres grupos de mujeres desde el embarazo hasta el parto: 4.900 sin historia de aborto inducido, 4.900 con aborto inducido con mifepristona y 4.800 con aborto quirúrgico previo.
El uso previo de la píldora abortiva RU-486 no afecta a los embarazos posteriores
